Impress' Research & Development is based in our centre in Crosmières, near Le Mans in France, and is supported by smaller 'satellite' units in our main facilities. This organisation, coupled with our network of Customer Technical Service specialists based in our factories, provides Impress with the resources to maintain our position among the world leaders of metal packaging as well as providing customer support through innovative thinking and strong technical know-how
Impress' leading position in R&D is recognised by the Technical Assistance Agreements we have with third parties, which create value for them and contribute to the funding of this activity within Impress.
Our customers benefit directly from Impress' investment in R&D, whether through product innovation, cost savings and rationalisation projects, or shelf life and food contact studies.
Special technical services can be agreed and charged to a customer where the resource required is beyond our ongoing activities. Many of these projects have resulted in major value creation for our customers and typically have a high payback in the form of cost savings, avoidance of capital expenditure or additional revenue from new products. Technical Service support takes the form of a two day can handling, filling and processing audit though this may be extended to include stacking and transportation of finished goods.
