Metal cans provide the ideal barrier against humidity and light for dry food products, ensuring freshness and food safety over long periods. Impress' well established expertise in these products, combined with our printing skills and our wide range of opening systems, have given us market leadership in Europe for dry food products and peelable ends.

In the growing dry baby food market there has been consolidation of in-house can production allied to the development of innovative closures. The recently introduced rectangular babyfood can has a modern image with a convenient closure system and optimises both pallet and shelf space.  Our range of ends for this market is specially adapted for dry foods and includes Easy Open ring-pull ends and Easy Peel® ends which were first introduced through one of Impress' founding companies, Schmalbach - Lubeca, in the 1980s.

In 2002 we were the first to introduce Direct Peel® Ends, a novel opening system which applies a peelable aluminium membrane directly to the inside of the can body, without the need for a seaming ring, delivering even more cost and value benefits to our customers and consumers.
