Seafood

Impress has the global reach and the breadth of range to meet the specialized needs of the large variety of seafoods that are canned around the world, from tuna in the Pacific Ocean to herring in the North Sea.

The 'healthy' and 'natural' characteristics of seafood-in-cans have established a robust market delivering a convenient, safe and low cost bridge between fisheries and the consumer.  The market has seen little significant challenge from alternative packaging

The Impress range includes two and three piece cans, made from steel or aluminium, both printed and unprinted, in a variety of profiles and sizes that complement the various shapes of fish being canned. Full colour printing helps to capture the evocative appeal of seafood to consumers across the world.

Aluminium has particular advantages for packaging:

  • easy opening of ends
  • no corrosion giving longer shelf life
  • good printing characteristics producing a high gloss finish
  • low freight costs for small, lightweight, stackable cans

Steel containers for seafood are being developed by Impress for particular market opportunities such as Morocco, Russia etc
A range of conical cans has been developed which enable us to maximise the number of cans in each load and to deliver special printed cans economically over long distances.

The great majority of our cans are supplied with Easy Open ends or Easy Peel® systems, in either steel or aluminium. Technical assistance is available to support customers and optimise processing, shelf-life, economic performance and packaging appeal.

Our expertise in wall-to-wall can production ensures a secure, reliable and cost effective means of supply for canneries in remote locations, such as American Samoa and the Seychelles.
