PAK is the largest Polish producer of metal cans and pails for the growing domestic market for paints and varnishes, and supplies both the major national paint companies and international brand owners, strongly present in Poland. PAK is also the leading Polish supplier of steel aerosols for the cosmetic, household and home improvement markets, all of which are experiencing strong growth in an expanding economy.
Impress is the second largest metal packaging company in the world, with headquarters in Deventer, Holland. It has a total turnover of approximately 1.3 billion euros and over 7,000 employees worldwide. Impress is European leader in the can market for paints and varnishes, and is one of Europe's leading suppliers of steel aerosols.
Impress is already strongly established in Central and Eastern Europe, with factories in Czech Republic, Latvia, Hungary, and Rumania.
This acquisition brings Impress an industrial base in Poland, the largest of the new EU states.
"Impress is very pleased to complete this strategic acquisition", said Francis Labbé, Chief Executive Officer of Impress. “PAK is a young entrepreneurial company with a great track record of profitable growth and a portfolio of first-class customers, many of whom we already serve in Western Europe. Our immediate objective will be to ensure continuity of PAK's excellent reputation for quality and service, and I am pleased to announce that two of the three previous owners have agreed to stay on in management rôles for the company. At the same time PAK will benefit from Impress' leading technology, know-how and R&D support, as witnessed by the recent launch in Poland of our award-winning 'three finger' ergonomically shaped can for Hammerite."
