New awards for Impress Innovation

Interpack, the major annual packaging trade show, was held in Dusseldorf (Germany) at the end of April 2005. Once again, Impress Group earned recognition for its differentiation strategy: the EAFA (European Aluminium Foil Association) was awarded to Dreistern Konserven, then a few hours later Deutscher Verpackungs Wettbewerb singled out the Tripod and Hammerite cans!

Following on from a raft of awards in 2004 (among others, three prizes at the Cannex Cans of the Year, and no fewer than seven at MPMA’s Best in Metal Awards), Impress is continuing to enjoy the same level of recognition in 2005.

The three prizes won at Interpack are ample illustration of the success of Impress’ dynamic strategy, which largely focuses on innovation and packaging as a key element in attracting consumer attention.

The Tripod can (Petit Navire, Heinz Group) wins Deutscher Verpackungs Wettbewerb award

Impress has worked with the Heinz Group (owner of the Petit Navire brand) for over seven years and recently came up with revolutionary packaging for Petit Navire’s tuna steaks. The perfectly adapted shape of the TripodÒ can makes it easy to remove the steak, completely intact. In addition, with the Easy Peel® closure, opening is possible without splashing. Its modern design underscores the product’s upmarket positioning; an image that is further enhanced by printing in blue, the ring housing the aluminium lid. Finally, the asymmetrical shape is ideal for wedging the steak in position and the cans can easily be stacked on store display shelves.

The Hammerite paint can receives Deutscher Verpackungs Wettbewerb recognition

Released on the Polish market in May 2004, the Hammerite paint can has an ergonomic shape making it very easy to hold: the “three finger” cutouts and its excellent grip make it very easy for the painter to work when no flat surface is available to set the can down (when working up a ladder or in hardtoreach places, for example). The attractiveness of its shape is further enhanced by the quality of the sixcolour printing process used for this can. With the Hammerite paint can, Impress has again illustrated its ability to offer customers products that are differentiated, attractive and practical.

Dreistern Konserven presented with EAFA award

The packaging award previously announced by European Aluminium Foil Association was formally presented at Interpack 2005. It took less than six months for Impress and Dreistern Konserven to agree on this new packaging, including design and production launch! Comprised of an aluminium bowl with an Easy Peel® closure, the packaging is used for a new range of prepared meals. With a capacity of 300 grams, it can be heated in a bainmarie or microwave and comes with its own fork making the contents suitable for consumption in or out of the home. Finally, with the high quality printing on both the body of the can and its closure, the Dreistern Konserven presentation attracts consumer attention and encourages purchase.
