Consultations are currently under way with employees in Impress’ Grantham facility concerning the future of this site, which has been considerably downsized in recent years but which continues to make losses. Impress Grantham makes cans for the UK food and petfood markets and currently employs 55 people.
Alcan Packaging Sutton Ltd (APS), formerly known as Lawson Mardon Can and Lawson Mardon Decorated Containers, is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of cans for the food and petfood markets, and of printed speciality containers. It has sales of approximately 60 million euros and employs 310 people. APS has a particular strength in DWI (Draw and Wall Iron) technology for twopiece food cans.
