Impress wins Innovation Award

At the recent Virtual Product Development Conference held in Frankfurt, Germany, Impress received an Innovation Award in Manufacturing from the MSC Software Corporation.

MSC Software has deep roots in the aerospace and automotive industries and, as the world's leading provider of integrated enterprise simulation solutions, recognises excellence in the use of its software through these Awards.

At Impress' Research and Development Centre, located in Crosmières, France, the design engineers are using the high-performance finite-element software to accurately predict how designs will behave in their intended environments. The software enables ambitious projects, such as the creation of new packaging designs, to be undertaken in a virtual, on-screen setting, thus avoiding the need to make a number of prototypes and tools. In this virtual environment, the design can be modified, the containers 'tested' and industrialisation techniques examined in full, delivering savings in both time and cost.

MSC Software now plays a key role in Impress design processes for innovative products and for reducing metal consumption at source, in line with the Company's pursuit of technologies which enable sustainable development.
