Logistics network increases awareness of can recycling.
From June 2009 onwards, Impress will use its logistics network, across three European countries, to reinforce the versatility of steel packaging and increase public awareness about can recycling.
The Association of European Producers of Steel for Packaging (APEAL) recently reported a record 69% of steel packaging was recycled in Europe in 2007 up from 66% in 2006. This represents over 2.5 million tonnes of food and drink cans and other steel containers being recycled, saving 4.8 million tonnes of CO2.

Norfolk County Council in the United Kingdom extends its range of recyclable items to include paint cans.
Norfolk County Council (NCC) with the support of Impress, European leader in cans for Paints and Coatings, has successfully extended the range of items that can be recycled. This collaboration paves the way for this “best practice” to be rolled out across the whole of England and Wales and could divert as much as 12,000 tonnes of scrap metal packaging, from landfill and into recycling.
