Impress is introducing Softlift®, a new generation of easy opening ends (EOE) offering effortless finger access and reduced opening forces. Softlift® is designed to provide consumers of all ages with genuine opening convenience.
Impress has an extensive history in designing opening systems. In 2005, for instance, Impress launched the world’s thinnest steel end “I’m 18” (0,18 mm) - this remains the lightest EOE on the market today.

Softlift® meets consumer needs
In late 2008, Impress introduced yet another innovation benefiting the consumer: Softlift®, diameter 73 mm. The end contains an attractive ‘finger well’ located under the Ring Pull tab, providing easier accessibility and grip for the consumer, thereby improving the openability. This end was first introduced to the pet food market and independent consumer research immediately confirmed a significant enhancement compared to previous products. Consumers interviewed found the new tab easy to hold and lift and the end easier and quicker to open.

Softlift® is now available for the complete range of steel easy opening ends
Following the successful introduction of Softlift®, diameter 73 mm, Impress has extended the new design to its full range of steel easy open ends with diameters 65, 83, and 99 mm, now available for both human and pet food applications.
