Impress Merthyr Tydfil’s innovative aerosol technology and ongoing improvements towards achieving the highest level in health and safety to make active, positive changes to people’s health and well being, successfully meet the criteria at the British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) inaugural Awards 2009
The Impress aerosol Flexidec TM printing technology won in the Economic Sustainabilty Category. This special printing technology facilitates limited print runs with a short lead-time, at competitive cost with the same quality of finished print as for larger runs. The Flexidec system is therefore ideal for product launches or small production runs.
Impress has a very strong employee well being programme, which won in the Social Responsibility Category. Year on year Impress Merthyr Tydfil has won awards for continuous improvement in its Health and Safety programme, including three International Safety Awards, the most prestigious Sword of Honour Award, 5 Star Audit Status for the past three years and in 2009, the Gold Corporate Health Standard from the Welsh Assembly Government.
The company carried out a staff survey to better understand employees views and incorporated the results into the well being programme, which has made a huge difference to the welfare and environment of employees as it considered physical, psychological, economic, environmental and social well being.
Francis Labbé, Impress CEO commented, “We are delighted to receive these awards, which recognise all our efforts, our innovative strengths and the high standards in quality, safety and service achieved at Impress Merthyr Tydfil. We are committed throughout the company to being environmentally, economically and socially responsible.”
Sue Rogers Director of BAMA said, “The BAMA Awards aim to highlight and recognise the continuous improvement, innovation and economic viability within the UK aerosol industry. By launching the industry awards this year (2009), we hope to encourage and provide members with the opportunity to discuss the UK industry’s successes in an informal environment, showcasing latest innovations and progress in sustainability.”
