Peru's canned food market is being targeted by a newly-formed joint venture by Impress and Chile's Inesa.
The two canmakers have reached agreement with the aim of capturing a significant part of the Peruvian market for steel and aluminium cans within the next three years. Each will have a 50 percent share of the firm, called '21 S.A.C'.
Inesa has built a plant in Callao, Peru, enabling the company to produce a wide range of cans locally for the domestic market. With more than 40 years experience, Inesa has operations in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil, offering a wide variety of tinplate cans and ends for seafood, corned beef and agricultural produce. Owned by Córpora, a Chilean holding, and with headquarters in Santiago, Inesa also produces and sells plastics and aluminium closures throughout South America.
